Why do we shout when we are angry and talk softly when in love?

This is a very peculiar trait of the mind. The six “ripus” (Shada Ripu), namely, Lust or Desire (Kama), Anger (Krodha), Greed (Lobha), Arrogance (Mada), Attachment (Moha), Jealousy (Matsarya) control the mind of human beings.

When the mind of a person does not get satisfactory support from others, he falls prey to fury and rage. It is the immediate reaction of anger (Krodha), which is why he starts shouting. When the mind receives the objects of his requirements to the level of his satisfaction, then he falls in love.

When the circumstantial environment fails to fulfill his requirements then his rage bears no control. To the contrary, he will bear a calm and serene attitude and fall in love if he is a gainer of all his satisfactions. In such a situation he will start loving each and every individual. As a satisfied mind is very peaceful, it then becomes an abode of “love” alone.
